I am planing on buying a new multitool since i have lost mine recently and am needing advice. I previously have owned a swiss army knife and am choosing between another swiss army or leatherman. I have been loyal to swiss and like there style and variety better but the leatherman seems for much more heavier/urban working. i have looked into both and would like to Know if there any suggestions on the models of each company that would be best. (i usually am in the city and use it for everyday use and occasionally go adventering)

I use my swiss army knife a lot also. It is easier to keep in a purse or pocket and it has most of the tools I need for everyday. So I would stick with the swiss army knife. A bigger or heaver knife does not necessarily mean better.

I have used Leatherman, Gerber, and Shrade Multitools over the years and out of the 3 brands I prefer the Shrade. The overall design of the tools is much better then the other 2. I recomend looking at the followng modles in each brand

Leatherman: the Wave is a great tool with lots of features

Gerber: Freehand Multi-Plier

Shrade: I can't access their website right now so can't give you a recomended model

Be careful of what kind you get. I have broken a few leathermans. I woould sugest a gerber if you want/need a heavy tool. If you don't, keep with the Swiss.

if you are staying in the city mostly and you don't do any heavy labor, i would stick with Swiss. Leathermans are good for people that need a heavyduty tool.
