These propane heaters only burn 1 gal of fuel per 5 hours. Does anyone know the manufacturers name. They are widely used mostly up in Maine.

Propane has 96,000 BTU in each liquid gallon. Therefore you look at the BTU of the heater. Most likely you are referring to the radiant wall mounted inverted type. They are 99.9 % efficient.

i am not sure about maine but here in pa. i use a WARM-GLO,it is a wall mounted and unvented radiant propane gas heater, it has 3 settings, and on the cold winter months i use about 150 pounds of propane a month, it heats a 600 square ft. area, they cost about 175 bucks at lowes.
