If you are referring to a window-mount AC unit, then it is likely that your drain hole on the outside is clogged. It could be the result of algae build-up or insects. Go outside and look at your unit, there should be a small round hole in one of the corners furthest from the window, located on the bottom side of the unit. You should be able to unclog the hole with a toothpick or other small instrument. This will alleviate the build-up of drain water within your unit, however, your AC may require a more extensive cleaning to prevent future clogging.

The condensation drain hole may be blocked or the unit may be tilted too much toward the inside. I assume that you're talking about a window unit.

Your condensate line is plugged. You can blow it out with compressed air and a nozzle, then drop a chlorine tablet (available at any pool supply store) to prevent the problem in the future.
