Combustion (oxidation) can be viewed as a second order kinetic process. This means that it depends greatly on the amount of oxygen. High air pressure means a lot of oxygen which in turn means faster combustion. At very high altitudes oxygen is so scarce that combustion is impossible.

The answer is Yes and No. "Yes" it happen in marine generator set where you need high air pressure of more than 15 bars to start a 1000 KVA gen set. "No" it a two different thing, where air pressure is needed to move or work an equipment. Whereas, combustion is related to ignition (fire), is a force to run an engine.
