1) Exercise regularly (walking, jogging, bike riding)
2) Watch what you eat: fruits, vegetables and mineral water are better for you than chips, candy and soda
3) Aside from exercising, try to walk more instead of taking the car

Try weight watchers-do not do diet pills!! they ruin your organs, and you won't lose weight healthily. Weight watchers has a wonderful program, and it's 12$ a week. Or, if you don't want to spend money, try this:
Everyday, keep a journal for what you eat, caloric content, and fat content. You should have 1400-1800 calories a day if you want to lose weight. Drink lots of water. You should only have 30grams of fat. Cut down on junk food, and cut your portion sizes in half. Also, go for a walk everyday, or do cardio 3-5 times a week. I suggest walking 1 mile every day, then working your way up. There's no easy way to lose weight, i've been there sister.

The best way is still eating healthy and exercising regularly. Don't go on fad diets--when you go off them, you'll gain the weight back. Eat small, balanced meals, instead, with small snacks in between, such as a piece of fruit or a glass of milk. The best way is to follow the food pyramid. Eat 7-10 servings of carbohydrates, such as breads and cereals (15 carbohydrates = one serving--check your labels, but this equals about one slice of bread or 3/4 cup of cereal. You also get 3 fruits, 3 8 oz. servings of milk or yogurt, 7 oz. of meat (especially poultry or deli meats), 3 fats (6 grams each = 1 pat of butter or 1 tablespoon of salad dressing), and at least 2 cups of cooked or 4 cups of raw vegetables. You can occasionally splurge a little if you make sure you account for it (for example, 17 potato chips = 1 carbohydrate plus 1 fat).
As to exercise, start in gradually and build up. That will keep you from giving up so easily. Take your dog for longer walks, if you have one, take the stairs when you can, or park at the back of the parking lot. Every little bit helps.
Don't assume you're going to become skinny overnight, though. Ideally, you will lose one to 1 1/2 pounds per week. That way, you are more likely to keep it off. And don't give up on yourself if you cheat--so you goofed once! You can still make up for it!

Sit down and think about why you feel or think you are fat.
Look up a Weight to height ratio scale which can give you a general idea of what a "Normal Weight"is according to your height.
Light an incense stick, buy yourself flowers, surround yourself in things that make you happy and smile. Sit in a Room by yourself with a book and list your eating habbits.
Dont stress about loosing the weight all in one go because the truth is...if you are loosing it the right way it will take a while but it will be more benificial in the longrun to take it Day by Day.
So each morn you wake up sacrafice that choc bar or take the stairs...may not do much to you but believe me in the long run thoes sacrafices pay off.
Good to know you are taking the first step and recognise you want to better yourself.
:-)

First thing you should do is go get a physical and ask your doctor what they would recommend.
I would say a low carb diet with a lot of walking and drink lots of water.
Stay away from soda pop, fast foods, and anything that is fried.
Tuna, skinless chicken, turkey are good for proteins without the fat levels of red meats.
Try to walk a half hour to a hour a day and make sure that you stay hydrated.
Good Luck!

I do not know how tall you are or how much you do weigh...but I'll assume you are truly overweight to ask for help.........Firstly, STOP eating "junk foods" such as chips, fatty foods or anything that is HIGH CALORIC. Start eating plenty of fruits, veggies, and protein and DRINK PLENTY OF WATER especially before meals (lunch and dinner) Get your mind off food....start a hobby and EXERCISE. Start off slowly with warm-ups and then either start walking or swimming (the two best exercises there are) The first week if you stick to this regime...you will see anywhere from 2-6 lbs of weight loss. The initial weight loss is usually "water", but eat sensibly (DO NOT SKIP MEALS..because you will overindulge on the next meal!!) , drink plenty of water and exercise.....you will feel good and look good in no time...Good luck to you.

figure out if youre comfortable with your current weight, if not start by coming up with a goal wieght.
Now that you have you goal wieght, focus on your diet.
Your diet regulates what youre eating and essentially fuels your body for workout.
After you figure out what youre gonna eat, start walkng somewhere comfortably 3 to 5 times weekly for about a mile aday.
Build from the walk and go into a jog, then run and eventually you will shed pounds. Mix in at least a half gallon to a gallon of water daily with all of this.

Leave the car at home. If you can get there safely, WALK instead! You will be amazed at how much it can help just doing things like walking to the shops & carrying the shopping home for eg. can do. Its what you put in & what you burn off so the only way to do it is to get active. Don't make excuses, don't be lazy. Get off your butt and do stuff. You don't need to go to the gym. You just have to skip, vaccum & dance at the same time, get outside. You are young go for a walk to the park or run with a dog. Don't walk up stairs like its painful, walk up them briskly. Do everything with enthusiasm. Notice how naturally thin people just have energy to jump out of their seat and do something quickly? Instead of sitting around watchin tv, jump out of your seat and DO SOMETHING.
