I don't believe that the characteristic is outdated. I believe that I am an honorable person. I first and most importantly honor my Jesus Christ because of his sacrifice on the cross for the forgiveness of my sins. I honor my parents always, my daddy is still alive and I honor his truthfulness, his faithfulness to my mother for 54 years of marriage, I honor his place in our family as the leader. I honored my mother because she was the most "honorable" person I have ever known, She was always kind , loving, thoughtful, and happy. she gave of herself 100% not only to our family, but, to her friends, her work, her church and her beliefs. I honor my employers by doing my very best to see that the company over which I am charged with managing is run appropriately and in the manner in which they want it run. I am a hospice nurse so I honor my dying patients and their family's wishes daily. I honor my grown son and his wife by being proud of their accomplishment, not butting into their lives and giving unsolcitated advise, but being here if they need me. I honor my country by paying my taxes and living within the laws of the land. I honor my friends by being loving, helpful, trustworthy, and faithful to them. I honor my boyfriend who is the love of my life by treating him with respect and dignity and the love that he deserves, and he returns that honor to me.
So, no honor is most definitely NOT an outdated concept. People just seem not to put much stock in it these days,

I dont believe I am an honorable person. I know me very well; I deserve no honor. I...I...I would be Lying if I said otherwise. I can not seek honor. To seek honor is dishonorable. Honor is what other people give you, not what you give yourself. Think of all the people you consider truly honorable. Do they go around saying they are? Do you mean honest? I try to be honest in my dealings with people to leave strong evidence of a sure mind. I wonder if you really mean honorable? If you do, it means absolutely nothing to me to be honorable.
