best way is to do this is to:
1>create an image of ur dvd game with nero or clone cd/dvd software..and store it in ur hdd..
2>now use a file spliter u split it into equal parts so that each part fits into a cd..
3>now burn each part into a cd as data cd mode..
now u have a backup of ur dvd..
Now if u want to install the game from the cd..
1>copy all the cds in a folder..
2>now join the parts with the file spliter software..
3>after joining u will have the original dvd image
4>mount it using daemon tools..and install..

i suggest this method because if u split the data itself ,,as it is a game dvd it willnot install directly from cd..
but u still need a dvd rom drive to create the image in the first place. so u can use any friends pc to do that.. and bring in the cds in ur pc..

Well, it's something you overheard, probably...
This problem must be splited in two: Running CD/DVD using a software and running DVD in a CD-ROM drive.

It is possible to run DVD and/or CD titles in your computer, using a CD/DVD EMULATING SOFTWARE. i.e. you use a immage of a particular CD/DVD "mounted" in that fake CD/DVD drive (offered by the software). Such immages can be downloaded or created after the original disc. Beware of copyrights!

It is however NOT possible to run a DVD disc in a CD-rom drive (you'll need a DVD drive, a combo (DVD/CD writer) or a DVD writer drive to do that). It's because they are differrent technologies, even though they look practicaly the same...
