This old book of shakespeares plays and sonnets was bought by my son for me at a oxford market it s a big big thick book with 1128 pages does have some water damaged to the cover but otherwise ok .
I have up to now not been able to dig up any information on it at all, the printers were London Sands & Company can't find these either

Water damage does affect the value of old books.
One idea is to see if a similar one is for sale on ebay, and this would give you some idea.
Otherwise, you could take it to a second hand bookshop that specialises in old, collectible books and get them to value it for you.

It's not worth anything. Anybody can get the material in any book shop and the edition is nothing special of itself. Treasure it because it's a beautiful thing, packed with gigantic ideas and feelings and because your son bought it for you.

It's not going to be worth a fortune as it's not an original folio and it's not in perfect nick but I would figure somewhere between £50 - £1,000 depending on it's collectability.

It may be antique value, but there could be a reprint of the same which may cost around 15 Pounds.
