Should they?
Well.. really here in the US.. they have no choice.. They are set on the internet in KINDERGARTEN.. 5 years old.. to learn hand/eye coordination with the mouse coloring in shapes and doing simple math...
Should they?
Well... honesly, I am 29 and grew up NOT using the internet until college... now I can't see how I ever did without.. but.. then again... the US Ranks 24th in the world in education.. instead of 1st like they were in the 80's and 90's...
I think the internet definatly has a purpose but I also see how it is responsible for the "dumming" down of our kids..
When I have children, yes, the reality of it is they will likely be on the internet by 10... but I will be there right there with them...

Yes, without a doubt!!
There are plenty of safe websites for young children to go on, that's why most computers come equipped with parental controls, besides most schools have our children on the Internet in kindergarten.

My grandchildren are 6 and 7, they are well supervised when they are on the Internet. Our public library has a web site for different age levels. They enjoy getting on the site for their ages which has educational and fun games for them to play.

Can't say no, because if restricted to them, they can see at anywhere, eventhough blocked unseen sites, they can try and try to get them to see.
It is better to allow duly educating them by the parents and discuss them freely for using of internet and to watch regularly. Because 50% of children may use in better way and some also spoiled.

Sure why not... its not like the average child know what to look for (say pornography). It may be educational for children too, advancing in computer technology and the Internet. BUT you should monitor discreetly by installing softwares to screen websites where children goes and not to go.

Yes. Supervision is very important. Internet filters for the computer needs to be equipped and safety must be a priority.

Yes, with parental supervision. It's a good teaching tool and allows parents to use the time for interacting with their child and teaching them about other things, like research skills, etc.

with no apologies. did you not use it when you needed info for a History essay? for learning about things he/she may never get the chance to see?
Are you a liberal who really wants more laws to slowly rip at our freedoms and the constitution?
I think your question should be that laws need to be created that no child predators should ever be allowed to use a computer again.
