No, it will just make them smell like vinegar.
What you want to do is buy some dryer sheets and put the clothes in the dryer for an hour or two. If you don't have a dryer of your own, go to a laundomat.

My home had a big fire a few years ago. I used vinegar to clean alot of things....not just clothes. But yes it will help with the smell, the vinegar smell is easy to wash out. I wish you well on your clothes.

white distilled vinegar will take out mildew smell and discoloration...so i see no reason why it would not work on smoke....BUT DO NOT SOAK vinegar is an acid therefore the longer you leave cloth in it the more it will eat at the fabric...one cup to a full load is all you need ...repeat treatment if needed ....i have used this remedy for over fifty years and it always works for me.....ricdavden

Try a cinnimon cleaner you can get it at a fire restoration company just look in your yellow pages. The cleaner will get out all of the smoke smell from everything while making it smell really good!!

Maybe only for natural fibers. nothing will remove the smell from synthetic fibers that I know of. I bought a couple of things from a store that had some smoke damage a few years ago. the synthetic blouse never lost the smoke smell.

Wash the clothes and leave them outside to blow in the breeze for a couple of days.
