Stand back in the box and have a few before the game.

Hitting a baseball is all timing. Because in slo-pitch, there is such a high arc, the most common mistake is swinging for the fences with an uppercut . Where you stand in the batters box is kinda irrelevant as the strike zone doesn't change. You have to keep your swing level and drive the ball. Try praticing by driving the ball into the ground , this will keep your swing more level and require you to concentrate more, instead of looking up to admire your pop fly. Allow the ball to drop lower into the strike zone and hit down on it.
