I think it has been ice cream, beer..... where I have sponged it off I now have watermarks......

Use a non ionic surfactant such as surf washing powder as this will draw the dirt away and not leave a tide mark

Years ago I used to have lots of suede shoes and bags.

I worked at Qualcast (lawn mowers division) and we used white spirit to clean the paint brushes.

One day I used the cloth that we dried the brushes on to wipe over my shoes and noticed that it cleaned them.

So after that I used to take my shoes and bags into work and clean them with a clean cloth with white spirit on it.

Don't worry about the smell it wears of pretty quickly as long as you don't soak it.

My partner is a carpet & upholstery cleaner & he said you can clean suedette with water.
What types of marks ?

You can get those wire brushes for suedette can't you? They might help..
