There is this belief that they bust in pieces when delivering and yet when you compare it to a lizard which lays eggs I am tempted to think that they also lay eggs

DEPENDS ON WHAT TYPE OF CHAMELEON. FOR INSTANCE VEILEDS LAY EGGS AND JACKSONS GIVE LIVE BIRTH.
AND TO THE PEOPLE WHO ANSWERED THAT THESE ARE REPTILES THEY ALWAYS LAY EGGS. THIS IS NOT TRUE THERE ARE SEVERAL DIFFERENT TYPES OF HERPS THAT GIVE LIVE BIRTH.
RED TAIL BOAS AND JACKSONS CHAMELONS ARE EXAMPLES.

as a reptile they should lay eggs. It is not a question of size as dinosaurs also lay eggs
