it is trying to exhaust the hot and humid out of the room and circulate it thru vent, thats why u feel cool :-)

you are feeling the air move, not cool down. try putting some iced water (in a jug!) in front of the fan- that may help a bit!

it is due to evaporation cooling.whenthe sweat in the body evaporates it takes away body heat to evaporate and makes you feel cooler.
