I am always confused about the use of term likely, unlikely, reportedly, in making the sentence.what these terms mean? and how can we use these terms very easily? please , guide me.

Likely = high probability (e.g. "It is likely to rain today" is equal to "There's a good chance it will rain today".

Unlikely = opposite of "likely"

Reportedly = When your information comes from a specific source, like a newspaper or a witness.

likely means that something has a greater possibility of happening than not. unlikely is the reverse. reportedly means that a bit of information has been reported to someone, who is, now, reporting it to you. it is also commonly used to prevent libel suits when discussing the actions of people. for instance, michael jackson reportedly committed crimes, but was judged not to have done so, by the US court system, so newscasters can say, "we didn't say he did it.", which would get them sued, they say, "we said, 'reportedly', but it was not confirmed".
