You should watch the History Channel on the subject. It will give you a more complete view, including the cause and effects of what happened in WWI that led to their anti-Semitic attitudes. Also, how he was very lucky to have risen to become Chancellor of Germany. There were many turns that could have sent him off in a different direction, putting someone far worse in power. Yes, there was worse ones who were not as mentally unstable.

Well, from the historical records, back when they used to teach it in school, Hitler was never german....he was austrian, born out of wedlock. As for his death, In 1945, much of his dream of a greater Europe, was being blown apart around him. Russian divisions were encircling Berlin, and he was hiding in his bunker, under the city, to try and hold out to some grand belief that a unit of crack soldiers were poised to break the siege, and sweep away the enemy. The only problem, is this unit did not exist....only on maps, captured by Allied forces west of Berlin.
He was living in the bunker, for the last 3 months of his life, venturing out only sporadically, and even then, it was risky....shelling became an everyday occurance, and bombings from the Allied air force, didn't make it much better.
His mistress, Eva Braun, was with him, to the end, living in the bunker as well. Some speculate, that he was wracked with Syphillus, and it had made him mad, to a degree....but, the show must go on.
Finally, a few days before Berlin fell, Hitler and his mistress took poison, vowing to never be taken alive by the soviets, who would surely abuse him. He gave the caretakers orders to burn their bodies, so they wouldn't be hung up, like moussilini was, when he was captured.
Needless to say, when the news of Hitler's death occurred....it was over...germany, on decline, was finally done...and the madman who killed so many people....was finally among the dead.
