Definitely not!! Assaulting a person is never fine!! Zidane is a good soccer player but he should of waited till after the game to let his anger out towards Materazzi , for whatever reason we will never know. I think he just made a fool of himself and disappointed his team and fans.

NO it's not fine. Things like that should never happen in sport. Everybody praises Zidane-yes he's a great soccer player but a poor example of sportsman like conduct. This is not the first time he's done something like this. Perhaps Materazzi provoked him but they all do that-GET OVER IT. And no I don't agree that Zidane should have settled the situation with Materazzi after the game. What would have been accomplished? NOTHING! Just more crap for the media to distort. Let Italy enjoy their cup and enough already with Zidane.

Of course it's not fine...If Materazzi said something bad about Zidane's mother he could have waited till the game it's over and then kick his a**...

i am roman in the heart. look, i think it is fine, really. but just in the damn FINAL of the WORLD CUP by doing that he let his whole team down... well i am a big fan of totti, the captain of Roma (my club), and i remember one time when an opponet was face down on the floor and totti just jumped on his back. see, both events deserve a red card, but zidane can say that it was justified.

Control is the key of the game - Zizou lost it - perhaps cost his team a 2nd WC because he couldn't shoot the penalty. Now he will have the blemish to live with. Luckily he had tons of accomplishments before hand.
Didn't the US tie Italia?

well when u look at it in ordinary way, what he did is not good to socker image especially as old player as he is, he suppose to control himself, he didn't, care for upcoming children, players and his fans like me also for his Carrier ending and i believe that that incident cost France the cup cos they play better. BUT when u ponder it deeper, u will know that we human beings are not perfect cos we are not god, so i think what he did is not good and is not bad but it would have don him better if he had ignore MATTERAZI.
