enjoy getting pregnant, dont worry about the birth it is never the same 4 anyone i had nerves b4 it an then it turned out i had a section. natural birth i have been told its obviously painful but completely worth it when u hold him an cuddle him the pain just goes. think about the baby rather than the pain an i will work out. but if ur still very worried an have a very low pain threshold opt 4 an epidural an u wont feel a thing.

I was scared, too. It's normal to be scared. It's really not that bad at all. If you go with no drugs, it will hurt a bit. But it's duable. I had an epidural after my contractions were coming on really strong, and I didn't feel very much pain during my labor and delivery. Once it comes time to push, you can feel the really strong contractions, but they don't really hurt. It's just a lot of pressure in your belly, and you can start to feel the baby's head coming through.

Get an epidural, and you'll be fine. It's a wonderful experience!

And Maggi is wrong. It's not any easier the next time. You don't "get all loose." Your vagina returns to it's original state once you have the baby. Trust me, sex feels exactly the same in that region after you have the baby.

My advice, imagine the worst pain you can, how horrendous it could be, and then when you go in you'll be plesantly suprised! When i was pregnant my cousins was at the same time we'd sit watching all the baby channels on tv shitting ourselves wondering how the hell we'd cope! People told us terrible stories and stupidly we listend.

When it came down to giving birth, i was first! And i was plesantly suprised! Yeah ok it hurts, but i;m the biggest wimp when it comes to pain and i managed with just gas and air, my son was out within 2 1/2 hours of contractions starting and the few stitckehs i had inside afterwards never hurt. I was glad i prepared myself for the worst, it made my labour seem amazing. Once you have your new baby in your arms anyways you forget it all!

I had a c-section with my first baby after hours of labor, but trust me on this it is worth it and they do have some wonderful drugs to ease the pain LOL!! But seriously I have 2 beautiful children and am expecting another one and I am not scared at all. It is the only pain in life that is well worth going through because when it is over you have this little tiny baby and then you forget about the pain. It is beautiful!! I tried not to focus on the pain but instead i focused on the reward. it can't be that bad because look at me I am on my third so if it was that painfull, women would just stop having children. Don't be scared.

Feels bloody awful but you get over it once you have a beautiful little baby to hold. Nothing will ever prepare you for your 1st child, it's very hard work, you feel like you've lost your identity and you ALWAYS have to consider someone else. My one piece of advice though, is to not let the midwives put you off going into hosp if you feel like your in labour(they will try to make you stay home as long as possible) I nearly gave birth to my 3rd in the car, waters broke, contractions started & just 2hrs later, with no pain killers, she was born. Very scarey. And to the girl who said it only hurts 1st time round........it doesn't get any better with your 2nd or 3rd.

yes, it is that bad, i have had three natural births, they do get easier though and you can have all different kinds of pain relief, the last thing on my mind when i got pregnant was giving birth and it is true what we say, as soon as they put the baby in your arms, the pain is gone, my first baby was 10lbs and that hurt, you cannot explain what the pain is like because it is surreal, all i can say is the contractions feel like the worst period pains you've ever had times a100,
i hope i haven't put you off but I'm just being honest, giving birth is the most natural thing in the world, it cant be that bad can it cos millions of us do it everyday
good luck!

Well i gave birth to my beautiful daughter 3 months ago and it's true what people say about forgetting the pain!! Once you see your baby for the first time, the pain is forgotten about. My labour was quite painful towards the end but it's definatley worth it and I would certainly go through it all again.

Yes, it hurts, but you'll be so excited at the prospect of finally seeing your baby, whom you have carried and nurtured for 40 weeks, that the pain will seem irrelevant. And it's over relatively quickly, then you can get on with loving the unique person you have created! It's the most magical, wonderful thing in the world. Good luck!

Every birth is different, maybe you should start worrying about the cost of raising a child before you have one. Who's going to pay all the medical bills before you give birth? Who's going to pay the hospital bill when you do give birth? Who is going to pay for all the doctor visits the first year? Who is going to pay for all of the yearly visits to the doctor as well as the colds, flus, ear infections, broken bones, sore throats, and other trips to the emergency room throughout this child's life. Who is going to pay for all of the clothes this child is going to be wearing, who will be paying for diapers, formula, breast pumps, bottles, baby food, food processors? Who will be paying for all of the school supplies this child will go through? Who is going to pay this child's college tuition? When you've got ALL of the answers to ALL of those questions then you can start thinking about getting pregnant...until then...you're too young.
