Acetone breaks down acrylic nails and glue...that's why to remove polish off of fake nails you have to buy acetone-free remover. Soak your fingers one by one in acetone, then using one of your nails on your other hand, slide your nail underneath the edge of the nail you are removing, It should pop right off.

Go to the supermarket and get a bottle of cheap nail varnis remover, wen u get home get a bowl of warm/hot water and place another bowl in that with the nail varnish remover in it, soak ur hands in this for a little while and the acrylic will start to melt, this is due to the accitone in the nail varnish remover, (this is all they do at a nail salon) x x x

Nail Techs soak your nails in warm acetone, then remover the acrylic as it softens. I would not recommend that you warm acetone, it has a low flash point and can cause a fire.

Another solution is to file them down a little every day, or every other. Do not over file because this will cause you days of pain.

Makes me wonder why women get acrylics for temporary nails

I have tried it before, and I wouldn't recommend it. It takes a LOT of filing. If you can, go to a professional.

If you can't, first you need to cut the nails down as far as you can. Then you need to buy a product called "acetone" to soak your nails it. After soaking them thoroughly (10 - 20 minutes), start filing away with an emery board until no more "gunk" comes off. Repeat the process of soaking in acetone then filing. Eventually they will come off!

My manicurist once told me that after you've soaked them in acetone for a long while, they will just "pop" off. Never seen it happen for real, though!

Soak them in bowl of nail vanish remover until they start getting soft, it does take a while so be patient and don't yank them off otherwise you nail will become damaged.

I would say soaking them in some kind of oil, because it will help the nails loosen up even more than just doing it in water.

soak your acrylic nails in a nail varnish remover that contains acetone. It will melt the acrylic off.
