I have never seen a people in the entire world so sinful and yet so succesful. I would say yes the inscription still holds for the Americans. In God they trust simply because they associate success with God. if you are not God fearing, which inmost cases is seen in the Oscars by artists for example saying "oh Christ...oh God...Thank you Lord ...without you God I couldnt have done it etc...all this are testimonies of what a God fearing nations the Americans are. To say the inscription is no longer valid would be an understatement, because after alll the curses the americans are getting from the arabs, as aresult of their selfish outgoing president, their economy has shown considerable strength or resistance...what more would you want as proof, wall street? open CNN now and you will understand what I mean. thank you very much...In God we Trust!!!

Ok here it goes. This country was founded on the faith of God and the bible. And due to that that phrase was placed on the money. But now.....lol...... People are getting fired or sued because they said God in school. In America people feel the U.S. flag is offensive. Well 9/11 happened and God had it in his plan. Do you think that if it didn't happen America would have ever pulled so tight and close like it did? Look at today's patriotism!! America like any country should never forget it origin, nor turn their backs on who we are. In God We Trust, means that we as a country are letting God work for us. Loved ones and friends have died giving us freedom that we now enjoy. And if it weren't for them dying, this country wouldn't be as great as it is. You all need to remember your history and cherish those who have given what that have for you. The people that died, soldiers, signed an oath just like I have, "For God and country!"
God does say thou shall not kill, but when 5000+ people are killed brute evil, God would understand the resolution. We as Americans, and soldiers are now protecting the ones we love and cherish. I will die for God and my country. That is why I joined the military. I don't want evil to attack the buildings my family and friends are in. So with God, I will stand and guard my country and you as well.

Which God would that be, Allah? the Tinitarian God? Budda? America is such an inclusive society that even its money discriminates against other religions, but to answer the question yes I'm sure most Americans still put their trust in God because lets face it its all they have left nobody else wants them.

It was placed there because anyone who accepted a currency note had to have some trust that the money was worth something.
Of course we still trust in God that the currency is worth something. That is the only thing that keeps fiat currency(currency not supported by any tangible assets) of any value.

yes! if you are spending dollars anyway. whatever you find still happening in the world today, that inscription still holds true. opposing terrorist aggression with violence is not killing. what do you think about wars when you have to defend yourself? do you stand still and be killed? do you run and turn your back on your enemy? that inscription on the dollar has shown that the founding fathers of america knew who God is. i am proud of that heriage though i was not born into that nation.
look at africa, what nation has that inscription on its money? NONE! see what is happening here. when you honuor God, He honours you. Our fore fathers in africa built our foundation on "juju", human sacrifices, demon gods and idols; see where we are today. americans say god bless america, what do we say in africa?
my friend, that inscription will always be true for america and for all its citizens. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Yeah...it is valid in reality...
but to think of using the phrase "In God We Trust" it is not appropriate...
We use it for Gambling, Wars, Illegal Transactions and many bad elements in the world...
May be we can change it to "Trust God by Using Me"...lol

Yes its still true. It depends on how do people trust in God. Faith holds on our trust in him. Isn't it that some countries fight with each other because of their faith in their own religion. but the thought of killing is out of the teachings of christ but not losing trust in God.

No. It's not valid and was never true.
The whole gamut of theism NEEDS to be disbanded and consigned to a dusty corner of the library's romantic fiction section.
