Download and run the yahoo antispyware program. Its free too!

try Lavasoft's Ad-aware or Spybot Search and Destroy which are both free, these will look for malware on your machine and will remove about 90% of it. They do not fix everything though but will provide a good starting point. If you suspect you have any malware on your machine, then i suggest googleing it and using the multitude of forums that are available, there are some very clever people who will give alot of their own time to help.
