It is best to get in a professional. Most carpet cleaners are also upholstery cleaners. Check First!!
They put on a protection which means that if you were to spill anything, it will stay on the surface instead of going deep into the leather.
Stand and watch how they do it and next time you will know how to clean it yourself.

There are these really easy to use leather wipes, I am sure they are available almost anywhere, but I get mine at Target in the aisle that has the windex and stuff. You just pull one out of the container and wipe it down. That easy.

a mix of tide (or whatever you use) and water. When it is dry wipe baby oil across it. It is the base ingredient in leather conditioners, and has a better smell

Get some saddle soap from a horse-related shop - that will clean your leather beautifully. Don't get it too wet, though.

I haven't found a way that works but don't use water, it will permanently stain the leather blackish.
