I want to know if a 1996 Christler Sebring XJi convertable with a 6-cylinder engine would make a good first car. If anyone has any idea how much it would cost to insure a 16 year old in this car please mention it as well.

Sure any car makes a good first car. I got my first car in 98 and it was a 1983 Grey Dodge Omni....So see things could be worse...haha

I looked it up on consumer reports, its not on the list for either reliable or not reliable, it goes only back to 1998 and that cars ratings where poor, I wouldnt buy that car, good reliable cars are toyota camry.

Yes this would be a cool first car. Don't go for that Japanese crap as some have suggested, those cars are just ugly. Reliability depends on how well the car was maintained by the owner. If you want to know about insurance look it up yourself.
