Israel is not technically fighting Lebanon. Israel is fighting Hezbollah. Hezbollah is a terrorist group whose headquarters are in Southern Lebanon. Hezbollah has been responsible for many attacks on Israel over the past years, missile attacks, suicide bombings. Now they have captured 2 soldiers and had long-rande missiles aimed at Israel and Israel said that's "Enough!" So they started launching airstrikes, targeting Hezbollah buildings and headquarters. Now, they are sending in ground troops, moving town to town to wipe out Hezbollah. The U.N. wants a cease-fire now. The U.S. wants a "constructive" cease-fire, meaning if they stop fighting now, they want a lasting peace, not just a return to the way it was before. No country has technically joined Israel. The U.N. is sending food & aid to the people of Lebanon, to be sure they are supported while this war goes on. Syria and Iran are the supporters of Hezbollah. They fund and back Hezbollah in their finances and attacks, and Iran is suppose to be where the Hezbollah leader is hiding out. I hope I was able to help.

It's kind of like when the twin towers got bombed, we got angrey and said you can't come into our country and do this kind of stuff so we decided to go get the bad guys who did it and also to clean up all the others who might want to step in and take part in future things against our country. Well Isreal is just doing the same thing, these Hezbollah monsters are firing missle after missle into Isreal killing their civilians and their children. So they are fighting back. Trying to take out the terrorists. Nothing different then what we have done to protect our people. The media just wants you to think that Isreal is bad, but all they are trying to do is protect their people and their borders. The hezbollah are gorillas that the Lebanon country need to clean up. They are in Lebanon and they choose to do nothing about them so they must pay the repercussions of allowing them to do what they have done. Isreal is not at fault in the least. You need to listen to Sean Hannity. You can learn alot from listening to him.

israel has found an excuse to finally do what they had wanted to do for ages, kill innocent people, there fight aint against Hezbollah no they want to wipe out all innocent muslims ( if there fight was against Hezbollah whay are they killing so many innocent people, they bombed a place where there were only women and children) why dont they just use their inteeligence to find those hezbollah people, why bomb innocent civillians) this is all an excuse they just want to kill lebanons and finally they think they found an excuse, trust me the israelians would have done it any way. and for that capturing of the soldiers thing as an excuse the un allows them to kill innocent people. its all **** man and morely wrong

There has never been a better time in the history of the world than NOW to get information and be informed. The internet is where you will find the answers to your question - it's a preferred source of information rather than rely on Yahoo Answerers here who will usually give you one side of the story. Perhaps you can begin with new reports from BBC News; CNN International....
