Oh, sure, plenty. The "get rich quick" magazines and web sites are full of them. Of course, the only people getting rich are the ones selling these franchises, not the ones buying them.

Your question is just exactly what the con artists want to hear. If they can get the people who want to make a living without having to invest significant money or get a "straight" job, they can suck them dry of whatever energy they are dumb enough to put into the scheme.

Why don't you just design a fake yourself and throw it out there in spam, and see what happens? You may actually get a few suckers. Is that what you want to do with your life?

OK, you pushed my button. My father fell for every one of these sucker scams that came down the pike when I was a kid, back before the Internet made it easy to connect with their victims.

If you really want to own your own business, not just get ripped off in a franchise scam, then examine what you know and what skills you have that someone might pay you for, and build a business of your own while keeping your regular job until the self-employment can pay enough to support you.

Do you have a hobby that could be turned into a career? Is there a market niche you could fill? Study the question, and maybe take a course or two at the local community college, and learn to research your interests on the Internet. But don't quite your job until you have a real, substantial income from your home business.

Auntb3's answer is bit right. I myself has fallen victim twice to such scams. It's disheartening to lose money without any returns expecially if you are to franchise (or market) impossible to sell products.
