If you have mildew on cloths, scrub them with milk, then, let them soak in milk. Scrub again if needed. Milk will take the mildew out if the stain hasn't been set bye washing and drying.

I mix lemon juice and salt, make a paste and rub it on the mildew. If possible, let the garment stay in the sun for a few minutes. If the clothing is dark, leave it in the house with the paste on it, but don't leave on but about 15 minutes because the paste may bleach out the color. When finished letting the paste stay on a while, throw the garment in the washer and wash as usual.

There are a couple of things that work to varying degrees.
The first is to soak the item in a tub of HOT water with about a tablespoon of bleach (just a splash). You may have to do this several times.
The other thing is a bathroom cleaner called "X14". If you try this, be SURE you have your washing machine filled with water and ready to go. If you leave it on too long it MAY bleach your clothes OR make holes in them. Just spray it on and watch the stain disappear! AS SOON as the stain is gone, dunk the item in the water and turn on the machine. You may want to check first for color fastness by spraying it on an inconspicuous part of the item.
GOOD LUCK!!

Just rewashing (with any detergent or cleaner) will seem to get it out until you are wearing it and begin to sweat. At least 2 cups of white vinegar per load will actually get it out. You can just put it through the rinse cycle.

Wash the garment in warm or hot water with oxygen bleach, depending on the fabric, and line dry or dry flat in direct sunlight.
