In a way, it makes sense. If anyone believes in Darwin's theory of evolution, then humans are like every other animal on the planet. We live to adapt to our environments in order to procreate to carry on our species. As most people label non-Darwin believers as conservative, than the statment becomes true; liberals would understand Darwin, and know that their purpose in life is to have sex.
