Personally my favorite was Benny and Joon.
I've never laughed so hard as when he was ironing the toasted sandwiches and he smashed the potato with a tennis racket...

I'm with you about "Benny and Joon". He handed in a terrrific VERY physical performance. The only rip off in the film is you can tell if you rewatch it that Joon burnt the house down when she put the flaming picture in the sink and left the house. The fire goes up to the curtain, but I guess that would be too much of a downer for most audiences. Couldn't leave her brother homeless at the end of the movie.
I also lovesd "Don Juan DeMarco". INCREDIBLY romantic, even for a straight man like myself.

How about Cry-Baby? One thing I like about Johnny Depp is that he takes chances...he's got one of the most interesting resumes in the business, and also gives reliably good performances...no, haven't seen Dead Man's Chest yet, but I did like the first Pirates a lot...there isn't a single actor or actress I'd go out of my way to see in a genre I don't like in general only because they're in it...but there's many an actor/actress I will at least sit through a film because they're in it...and Depp certainly fits the category

I don't like Johnny Depp or Pirates of the Carribean. He's just a wannabe Frenchman who thinks he is all "artsy" but is just a sell out like all the other celebrities.
