You would have to remove part of the wall unless it's made of something non-porous, like concrete (then you could sand-blast.) It will always grow back, as there are mold spores in the air, and it can make you sick if it's the toxic mold (black mold.) Try using a dehumidifier to keep it from getting worse until you can do something permanent. Good luck!!

Mold will only grow when there is a continued supply of air and water. You need to remove the supply of water, since making a vacuum is unlikely. You can do that with a humidifier, or even a window air-conditioner. Initially, and assuming the water supply was over with already for whatever reason, you can wash down the wall with a solution of Clorox and water, perhaps adding some TSP in the mixture. That's Tri-Sodium-Phosphate, a strong detergent--available in paint and hardware stores. But your best bet will be to just eliminate the source of the moisture for whatever reason. If you are in a basement apartment, or whatever, you might need to seek a waterproofing company to rather expensively eliminate the problem once and for all via underground drainage. Whatever it takes!

Things like charcoal and cat little will absorb moisture... pour some in an open container and place in the areas that seem to get moldy quickest. Also, there are kits you can buy quite cheap that let you test the mold to see if it is a health hazard. If you're renting the place you live and the mold is hazerdous you need to talk to your land lord. It then becomes their responsibility to either fix the issue or let you out of your lease.

I have the same problem, my clothes are starting to get smelly as well, I used Hippo's in the bedroom and closet to draw the moisture out of the air. Not much I can do except move to a place that I can leave the windows open.

Put a small light bulb in the wardrobe and leave the light on. The light will generate heat and will keep the humidity, within the closed space, low.

first of all i would take out everything in your closet, then i would paint kilz on the closet walls then paint it with a color you like the kilz will kill any mold and kilz will prevent it from coming back..but you need to find the reason for the mold in the first place..maybe a leaky roof...because if its a leaky roof or water getting into your home this problem might be in other areas of the home..and mold could make you very very sick or even kill you...i about died from it because we didnt know we had it and it took the doctors forever to find out what was killing me slowly...
