so many of u think emo kids r losers. well too me not all emos are losers. the ones that are r the ones that always cut themsleves. im not emo. i use to be i guess if u would label me. but i decided to take life on a positive note. and i was always down becuz my i went thorugh alot of stuf in life that i couldnt handle. so u guys may think that emo ppl have to move on with life becuz life is hard.well have u guys thought maybe they cant handle it. not all ppl can handle stuff mentally or emotinaly. and u know if u get to know "real" emo ppl they r kool. i dont like the poser emos sayn they're life is bad when really its not. and say they cut and want to die when they have no reason. so i guess i should just say dont judge ANYONE if u dont know they're situtation.
and p.s im not a loner i have tons of friends

that is a really terribly thought out guilt trip.

nobody calls sad people emo. we call the people with black hair, those dumb square glasses and all the other hot topic accessories (not to mention a year's supply of chucks) emo.

they differ wildly from the norm, and people talk badly about people who are different to feel better about themselves.

i hate them because in their attempt to reject popular styles they created their own popular style and mindlessly followed it. do you see the irony here? their "different" gear is mass-produced and has it's own spot in the mall, just like the oh-so-evil american eagle, abercrombie & fitch, and what not.

i know an "emo" kinda dude who i actually like, because he's just being himself. he doesn't make a big show of "i'm so emo", he does his style and i respect that. the kids prancing around going "I LOVE EMO" are the ones i hate, because they're projecting just as much fakery as anyone else to fit in...although with a very different group.

Because they are expressing their feelings through whining. It's not like the "emo" genre of music made some great breakthrough with lyrical content. People have been singing about how the feel for as long as thy've been singing. Emo made it stylish, which seems dumb to a lot of people. I like being happy, and I don't pretend to be sad and damaged to fit in.

Emo's aren't emo cos their sad, they get called emo cos of the way they dress, same as neds, skaters and goths. they also get made fun of because they are regarded in the same legue as goths. Many people don't see them as different groups, but as goths/skaters and neds. I personally mdon't taunt them because they are different, but they are not going through a hard time just cos they are emo, everyone has hard times and if emo means people should feel sorry for you then no wonder they are taunted by others.

people judge "emo" people the same way they judge everyone else. I don't know one person who doesn't pass judgement on another person. funny thing is, if they actually got to know the person they're busy making fun of, they'd probably find them to be pretty interesting and nice. people should stop judging everyone and just get along, but we all know thats never going to happen. oh..and it's not "emo's" that cut themselves. those people really need help.it's not "oh, I'm emo, get me a razorblade." those people need to seek professional help or something.

Whatever you label them, they're going to get labeled... I don't like it, but it's reality. Personally I think there are worse things kids can be called. My question is, what's wrong with showing emotions? We all TRY to project a confident and strong personality, but everyone has insecurities and weaknesses that we wouldn't want someone to point out... So why are we so quick to point them out in others?

To answer the question point blank...people make themselves feel superior by putting others beneath them in their own mind.

Because they are annoying and shallow fakers who are just going through regular teenage sh1t that all teenagers go through, the only difference is that they are making a lame "fad" or "cliche" out of it that further alienates themselves and other teens. My brother is an emo kid, and he is the one of the most shallow self-absorbed human beings on the face of the planet.

I love how your question in itself seemed emo. In all seriousness, why do people judge anyone? Just becuase they can and it'll make them feel better I suppose.

Emo?

people do it because it makes them feel big and important. all the more because "emo" kids (by the nature of their emotional state) are more likely to produce "amusing" responses - in particular, emotional behaviours e.g. crying
