My friend told me that it was a horrible school, based on an experience her friend had had with Devry's. Is it a bad school, or is this just a singular report with a bad basis?

Any school is a good school if it is accredited, provides the specific program you are seeking and has faculty that are knowledgeable in teaching you what you need to know to achieve your degree and the direct knowledge, skillls and abilities you will be using in your chosen profession. I would schedule an appointment with an advisor at DeVry and determine yourself if this is a school that can meet your professional needs. Don't succumb to hearsay, make an informed decision by doing research and actively seeking the questions you need to ask and asking to get the answers you need to be informed and make the best decision for you. Not someone else.

It is exactly like Everest or Westwood College. These schools and others such as the University of Phoenix are for-profit corporations. Their sole admission standard is whether or not an applicant has the ability to pay tuition, their "courses" are dumbed down to match the lowest common denominator, and they NEVER fail anyone no matter how little effort is made. Given these characteristics, how good of an education do you think you would get at fake-school U?

Here are some reviews by students. For the money they charge try any other school and then transfer. I was told by a counselor that a lot of schools won't even let you transfer to them from DeVry without starting all your classes over from scratch (ie no credits from DeVry are accepted).

Technical schools basically charge you an arm and a leg for a guaranteed degree or certificate. This means they hire sub-par teachers and you buy your degree. You can still know next to nothing when you graduate about the major. You are better off with a university that actually grades you on your work not your pocketbook.. this way you earn the grade you get and if you do well and retain the knowledge you are much more employable. About 2 years of technical school usually costs 30k if not more. Just for tuition and books that is.

Devry is a horrible school. Go to your local community college and transfer to a University. It is bad. It is a rip off. It is for people that watch Judge Judy and Judge Joe Brown.

DeVry sucks. They teach outdated and irrelevant material. It's very expensive too. Stay away from there.
