well - depends on where you live. If you're living in cold regions then animal fats would be better because they'd naturally keep you warmer. If you're in a warmer climate, stick to the veg since the necessity of that excess saturated fat would not be a factor

For the most part, fat derived from plants are unsaturated fats. This fat is healthier for the heart.
Animal fats contain saturated fats - not at all good for the heart. Animal fats also increase cholesterol levels.

animal fat or for that matter any food derived from animals is inferior to the food derived from plants as the toxicity increases by 10 times as you go from one level to the next starting from the plants through the herbivore through the carnivores through the predators

fats derived from plants are better for humans to eat. But... fish contains fat that is good for humans.
Animal products contain cholesterol... plants do not.

Animal fats are certainly bad for health. They are poly saturated fatty acids. they increase the cholesterol level in blood leading to deposit formation in the blood vessels. These deposits restricts blood flow resulting in heart attack and stroke.
Some vegetable fats are also rich in cholesterol such as coconut oil and palm oil.
But olive oil is good for heart because it contains mono saturated fatty acids which helps produce the Good cholesterol called HDL
