There are several commercials on tv lately that feature an accapella version of "somewhere over the rainbow", and i have also heard "when you wish upon a star" by the same person/group. Does anyone have an idea of who this artist is? I love this version, and would love to find it. I do not even know the commercial...please help...

McPHEE: 'I WAS OVERWORKED'

AMERICAN IDOL runner-up KATHARINE McPHEE insists her non-stop schedule was to blame for her becoming sick, which in turn forced her to cancel tour dates.

The SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW singer was ordered not to speak for three weeks after seriously bruising her vocal chords.

She appeared as a guest co-host on US talk show THE VIEW on Thursday (27JUL06) and addressed all the rumours surrounding her disappearance.

McPhee explained, "I didn't really disappear. I was just following doctors orders. He told me, 'You're not allowed to talk for three weeks.' "People speculated that I was making a movie, and that I was better than American Idol. I am so grateful for what American Idol did for me.
"And I miss those people on the tour.

"People thought the bulimia was the reason I was set back, but it's just not true. I just got sick and I was overworked."

Im not sure which version you are looking for but maybe it's the version i have which is sung by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. It is Somewhere Over The Rainbow with a verse of What a Wonderful World towards the end. Its soooo sweet. This version is also on the soundtrack of the movie 50 First Dates starring Drew Barrymore and Adam sandler.

I also believe that Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs, Bing Crosby and Judy Garland have performed this song aswell.

This is an old song and there are different versions of it.... It's also one of the soundtrack in the movie "You've Got Mail".... and I think Cliff Richard is the original one who sang this song..

You can check out this link.... www.letssingit.com

here's the complete lyrics of the song...

Somewhere over the rainbow/what a wonderful world

Oooooo...
Somewhere over the rainbow,
Way up high.
There's a land that I heard of,
Once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow,
Skies are blue.
And the dreams that you dare to dream,
Really do come true.
Someday I'll wish upon a star,
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops,
High above the chimney tops.
That's where you'll find me.
Somewhere over the rainbow,
Bluebirds fly.
They fly over the rainbow,
Why then - oh, why can't I?
I see trees of green, red roses too.
I watch them bloom for me and you.
And I think to myself,
What a wonderful world.
Well, I see skies of blue and I see clouds of white.
The brightness of day and light, darkness of night.
And I think to myself,
What a wonderful world.
The colours of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky,
Are also on the faces of people passin' by.
I see friends shakin' hands, saying "How do you do!"
They're really sayin' "I love you."
I hear babies cry and I watch them grow.
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know.
And I think to myself,
What a wonderful world.
Someday I'll wish upon a star,
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops,
High above the chimney tops.
That's where you'll find me.
Somewhere over the rainbow,
Way up high.
Birds fly over the rainbow,
Why then - oh, why can't I?
Oooooo...

Hmm I believe in the end, the mexicans quite do not topic within the votes since such a lot of them within the United States are unlawful, they will have to attention the men and women with a citizenship or born residents. Also I believe Obama might emerge as being Vice President underneath Hillary simply since of all of the democrates and left-wing republitions.

The commercial I'm thinking of....the artist is a Hawaiian man, passed away in 1997. His name was Israel "Izzy" Kamakawiwo'ole. Scroll down on this page and you can see if this is it.
