Ronaldinho if he is not wearing a Brasilian kit. The future belongs to guys like Fabregas. Eto'o is by FAR the best striker in the world. Cannavaro is the smartest defender. Riquelme is the best playmaker. Buffon was the best keeper in the WC, but that can change in a hurry.

You can't say that only one player is the best. I think that there are a few briliant players in the history of football, like Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Zidane, etc.
But if you ask me to say only one i would say Ronaldo.
