I am bisexual. When I got married I gave up women, not because of not being attracted but
to be truly monogamous, the same as I gave up all men but my husband. After a few years, I was not as attracted to women any more. I'm not sure that this carries over to people who have never had an attraction to the opposite sex or even if it would work for anyone else. I think if you are planning to totally change your orientation and not just nudge it a couple of degrees like mine that you have a lifetime of struggle ahead of you.

If "changing" means being with women, then why do you think you are gay?
And why do we have to put ourselves in these categories? You like what you like. If you try to live by the rules of the gay community or the rules of the straight community, you are only going to make yourself miserable. It's your future, and it's your happiness and fulfullment that are in question. Do what you think is right, and you will be happy because you'll be proud of your choices, and you'll never have any regrets. If you think you should try to change, then try...you're never too far down any road NOT to be able to turn around and go back.

Some people have stopped sleeping with men, and have even gone so far as to start sleeping with women.
But that does not change their desires.
So I supose it depends on what you mean by "Can you change?"
Is it possible to change your behavior? Absolutly.
is it possible to change your desire... probabbly not.
but then you are not asing for anyone to express truth - you are asking for people to tell you that you can change (Other wise you would not have asked people who are going to answer "NO" to not answer - you are only looking for "YES" answers) So perhaps you should consider why you are seeking suport, rather than enlightenment.
Perhaps you should consider why you are asking the question, and put such an odd restriction on the possible range of answers.

I've heard the argument "it's not a choice, it's how you are born" and maybe it is for some of them. For those that say that statement is true for all gays I just have two words: Anne Heche.
Was she "born straight", decide to be gay and then realize she was straight or was she "born gay , finally realize it and then decide to be straight? According to the "it's not a choice..." argument, it can't be either since both possible answers have her "deciding" to be either gay or straight.

I have always been straight as an arrow. Gay people just have a mental block from women and yes I believe they can become straight. Just start dating women and they will forget all about men that way. God made adam and eve not adam and steve!!!!!!

I don't think you can make yourself something that your not. If your gay your gay and that's that. If your straight your straight. I guess it's not impossibe but why make yourself miserable being something that your not?
