Am I the only person who finds it hypocritical that many singers such as Beyonce Knowles and Christina Aguilera, who flaunt their bodies on stage and in video clips and, to be perfectly honest, often dress, dance give off the impression that they are absolute whores- turn all religious and holy in their "Thank You" section of their albums?
They're always saying 'Thank you God for this blessing, rah, rah, rah..." and yet they're completely contradicting the majority of religious beliefs which state that sex is something deeply meaningful and that being a total tramp isn't exactly the way that a "good Christian" should act... what do you guys think? Are they being contradictory?

Your absolutely dead on. They're giving the wrong message. I could tell you from people in the business that I know, Mrs. Aguilera is difficult to work with. Not so much her peers but people she does business with. If your not near her level, then your dirt. A singer that is doing better with the lord, is that black female lead singer with the defunct Fugees. That is probably why you don't see her in the limelight anymore. God is more important than making as much money as you can, by selling him out.

No I dont think they are being hypocritical at all. They know that they would not be where they are without the blessing from God. They dress the way they do because that is what society demands. Not many people would go see Beyonce or whoever if they dressed very conservatively

Yeah religion in Hollywood has become a fashion trend. It's not sacred anymore! Take Britney & Madonna's Kabbalah.. it's all about the red bracelet, not about the beliefs!

I always thought religion was kind of like a trend.
But anyway, I see your point.
Whether they are truly whorish or not, they certainly give the impression of it, which is almost as bad.
I think they just use God as.. something to put there :s

Absolutely. And it's the same with awards shows. If you wouldn't do what you do for a living in front of your pastor/minister, you have no right to stand up in front of everyone and thank God.

i see your point but i dont necessarily agree with it. I think it is ok to be who you are even if it means straying from what the bible says is ok as long as you make that choice. I also think it is ok for them to thank god for allowing them to be where they are because they know without him they wouldnt even wake up in the mornings. They are just normal people and just as normal people go gambling and drinking like fishes these clebrities will to.

They r blessed with the beauty God gave them, but I think that their success is tied for advertising and propaganda more than to Gods will. And their spirituality and affection is matter of propaganda, too. But they r not guilty for that. Its the matter of "curly" education in US society.

absolutely, like mel gibson, got arrested for drinking and driving and he's a devoted catolic or christian, one of those two, great image their setting on, but for celebrities these days is fashion, wear religion as fashion instead of holy worhippers, like madonna, kanye west, etc...
