a "shroom" is short for "mushroom". Some are edible and taste good. Others are toxins and still others are used as hallucinogens. I wouldn't recommend picking some and eating them because some of the common ones are fatal if eaten.

The term Shrooms are often means hallucinogenic mushroom in the drug community. It can also stand for any type of mushroom. Some are safe to eat while most aren't.
They hallucinogenic mushrooms. People eat them cause they give them the same effects as Acid or other strong hallucinogenic drugs. While there are a wide range of hallucinogenic mushrooms there are only a few that are safe to eat.

First of all,

Please don't spread disinformation. Hallucinogenic mushrooms do not give you the same high as LSD (acid). They may be both classified as psychedelics and produce somewhat similar "trips" but they are in no way the same. Hallucinogenic mushrooms also do not give you the same effects as any other hallucinogenic drug.
Different chemicals/drugs give you different effects. Saying any drug is the same as another is wrong and very misleading and could potentially cause someone to be totally unprepared for one drug because they think it is going to be like a drug they have already done. Psilocybin and lysergic acid are two different chemicals and will obviously produce two different effects to your body as well as cause two different health side effects to your body.

mushrooms have varrious appearances go look up a website on them. they are good to eat and add variety to the diet. if you mean the halucinogenic ones. you can find them on line too im sure. if you want to blast your brain go ahead, doesnt sound like it works all that well now
