Some times our systems behave abnormal as human beings.
Pl. follow the following steps.
1. Power off the computer and scanner.
2. unplug the scanner from computer.
3. uninstall the scanner software and re-start the computer. The system should be working properly now.
4. Then power off the system. Restart, install the driver provided with the scanner and once again power off the system.
5. now attach the scanner and power on. then follow on the steps given in the user manual.
Now it will be ok.
If the problem persist, call hard ware engineer or contact the Scanner Vendor.

Installing a scanner shouldnt cause a issue there. I would delete all the cache. IE: tools --> internet options --> delete cookies, delete files. Give it a shot. After you installed the hardware I imagine you rebooted your PC? That doesnt come up and tell you to do that for nothing.

These days browser addons are a menace
I guess that is the cause of the issue.

open internet options under the tools menu, click on programs tab and then the manage addon buttons. disable any addons which you donot require. I guess you will have one addon for the printer too.

Cheers !!!!
