Just instruct the kids on proper computer online behavior, and to not to give out personal specifics, then trust them.

Don't really need to spy, unless given a very good cause.

Confronting kids with info from spying can cause a break in the bonds of loyalty and trust.

As for looking at archives or history sometimes they get deleted or wont give you something you exactly want. The exact way to do what you want is to install a program known as "Perfect Key Logger" It records everything your computer does including keystrokes, websites visited, conversations passwords.I mean everything.Besides the program is password protected and hidden from programs that is your kids wont suspect anything. It comes comes out you when you press a sequence of keys that you may have set (eg.Ctrl+Alt+L)and there you right you write your password. The program icon will be displayed and you'll be ready to view the logs.If you want I may even send you a file of its setup(Installation package) so that you may try it and see how it works.

But its important if you only want to help them. Its good respect their privacy.

Maybe if you trusted your kids a little more, they might be more inclined to sharing these details with you.

Sit 'em down. Have a little talk about Internet Predators. And leave 'em alone. They'll figure everything out on they're own.

Ciao!

In yahoo they have a messege archive you can access, but it wont give you anything right away if it's not accessed. You'll have to do it and wait until they talk to people. But beware.. it'll say EVERYTHING your kid has said!

If your kid uses a windows machine with MSN messenger, simply go to your My Documents Folder, click on the folder named with their s/n, and if you're in luck, your kid would've turned on the logging option and have his/her conversatiosn stored in the History folder. A better idea would be simply to ask them. If they're little kids, then watch what they're up to. If they're teens, give them their space, but let them know you care, you're worried, and that you wish to talk to them.

1.) Try posting a question 1 time
2.) Sit down and talk to your kids. If they dont tell you who they are talking to on the internet you have bigger problems than installing a keylogger.

Here's a good idea. Install a Nanny program to prevent them from viewing adult pages. Keep the computers where you can supervise them.

You could install a keylogger, but sh!t man, respect their privacy.

How old are your "kids"? If they're under age 15, I'd just ban IM programs altogether. There are too many sick f'ers out there... read pervertedjustice.com and you'll see what I mean.

you don't. ALL kids need privacy.... just have faith in them. They will hate you if you go snooping around their conversations.

If they are younger kids, just dont let them go online or sit down and supervise them!!!

the online world is just as dangerous as the real world. teach them about stranger danger!!

im sorry but i really dont think thats any of your business. its a HUGE invasion of privacy and if your kid finds out the trust in your relationship will be ruined. i wouldnt risk it. instead try to get closer to them and they will tell you who they are talking to all on their own
