The question is very valid! Why do we side with Israel no matter what they do, ignore world opinion and play favorites? We cannot be a mediator and take sides! To help in any situation, you have to be natural!
Not one of these issues existed in 1946 after the second worldd war! Many nations supported Americas political positions in 1962!
Why do we now have so many nations thinking that America is the enemy of world peace. Many countries that stood with us during worl war II and into the sixties, now take exception to our politics? What has happened?
Why do so many countries think that America is against them?
When Bush came into office he received the Israeli head of state,
he spoke negatively of the Palestine head of state publicly and refuse to see him! How shall America mediate their conflict?
Then to demand from the side he would not talk to that they should give up their weapons but not the other side.
Palestine requested UN Peace keepers be sent in to help stop the fighting. The Israeli government refused to have UN peace keepers come in to support a truce. WHY?
What political image do you think that transmitted to the world?
Even if those are his thoughts and beliefs, He cannot settle anything by publicly denouncing any one unless you want war!

I read this story about a man named Abram who had a son named Ishmael. Ishmael's mother was an Egyptian woman named Hagar, who was a "handmaiden" of Abram's wife Sarai, who through a series of debatable decisions permitted Hagar to bear Abram's child. That whole set of circumstances didn't turn out as well as Sarai expected but the deed was done.
Time passed and Abram became Abraham and Sarai became Sarah. Then Sarah bore Abraham a son, Isaac and because Hagar was a servant Sarah ordered her "out of the family". Abraham reluctantly agreed and sent her and her son Ishmael packing.
There are many parts of this story that are "debate worthy" but the one thing that seems certain is from the time that Ishmael was born, a certain amount of rancor came into existence between the bondwoman Hagar and the wife Sarai, now Sarah.
As it turned out both Ishmael and Isaac were the "fathers" of a multitude of peoples. And those peoples inhabit the part of the world that is now called the Middle East.
I guess my point is, this argument has been going on a mighty long time, and whether you "believe" or not, the fact is it's going to go on until it ends.

The war between the isreal and lebanon is going on in an endless direction. We can say that is a war by isreal backed by USA. but, two days ago lot's of children were killed by the isreal forces. Yesterday there was a voting regarding the iran issue not the Isreal and lebanan issue. The should have taken the lebanan issue only not the iran.The UN is also not doing well in the problem. it is very pathetic. let us wait for a ceasefire very soon..

Smart bombs reduce collateral damage(less civilians killed). Hezbollah, along with Syria and Iran and all who support Hezbollah in any way, is totally responsible for all war related deaths in Lebanon and Israel. Lebanon is the world's war, Hezbollah declared it is at war with the world, meaning all who are Jewish and all who will not convert to their twisted way of thinking and worshiping.

Some people are so stupid while they think if "Hamas" and "Hezbollah" didn't exist Israel didn't invade and slaughter Palestinian and Lebanese.
Israel is a hostile country in middle east. Since it was founded till now, they are killing innocents, running out Palestinian of their country, invading other countries and occupy some other countries such as "Palestine", "Lebanon", "Syria", "Egypt" and threating the whole of the region.
US is supporting Israel regime for a long time including, giving them WMDs, political supports, etc. So, US is Israel accomplice.
"US prime minister said they want to change the middle east map."
It means all of these troubles and killing innocents are made as a plan. Actually, invading Lebanon is an excuse to continue this plan after US invaded to Afghanistan and Iraq.
On (Monday, July 31, 2006) "Olmert" in Israel parliament (Knesset) said to Lebanese with a laugh, nobody don't want to help you.
What does it mean in your opinion?
Isn't it a permission from some countries to Israel for killing Palestinian and Lebanese civilians?
WAKE UP PEOPLE...! They are killing civilians and ruin countries with aids of US, UK and even United Nation can't do any useful activity.

US is vetoing all of UN resolutions for aid to Israel and doesn't let nobody help civilians. US prime minister several times said, we don't want this war be finish now.
