Oh, right, because getting into show business, he stupidly assumed that his bad behavior would be swept under the carpet.
Uh, NO, moron. The media eats up celebrity bad behavior for breakfast. If he wanted to be left alone to his anti-semitic drunk warblings, he should've chosen a career as a Fry Cook or Bowling Alley Attendant
Having made the voluntary choice to forever glue himself directly in front of the world's watchful and curious eye, he can just suck it up when he makes such a mindblowingly HUGE blunder.

I do not think any person who is drunk should get a ticket and be let go... driving while intoxicated KILLS... I do like Mel Gibson and I think that everyone should give him the benefit of the doubt until we know for sure what happened... but I sure don't think that the millions of people who have been arrested have it splashed on the news within 24 hours.... give the guy a break.. he may not have said things that people are saying he did.. but I still say.. if you are drunk you need to go sleep it off.. watch a video on the many people who have died as a result of drunk drivers.. and be given a warning that if they ever get caught again.. no matter who they are.. they will get an automatic 2 year prison sentence... then we may not have this problem so often... It is sad because I know 5 people who have been killed by a drunk driver... 3 of them were babies... the other two were young mothers... when will it stop? answer... when we demand it stop by tough sentences.. :(

He was drunk and he got into a car and drove. That alone, regardless how rich you are should at least get you some jail time. He also tried to escape, again deserving of some jail time. What the heck, he has over a half a billion dollars, the most that will happen to him is a stiff fine, maybe some rehab in a fancy rehab resort, and he'll be on his way. He probably won't even have to set foot in a courthouse. For crying out loud, the man was doing 85 mph in a 45 mph zone and he wasn't even ticketed for speeding.

See, as usual, people are not getting the entire story. The man made a movie about Christ and was withstood by the Jewish powers dominating Hollywood. The man lived under extreme stress because he made a movie about Christ. Why? Cause Jews hate Christianity. See, the bigotry started there, with Jewish hatred. Who are they to try and stop or pressure Mel for making a movie about Christ? They did just that. It was they who started the stress on his life. That stress was building up and hurting his career in a city dominated by Jews. When he got drunk, all of that stress just poured on out.
How does Hollywood become dominated by Jews? Who gets a movie? Who gets a promo? Who gets advanced? Why so many Jewish actors getting jobs? Are Jews promoting Jews, to the hurt of other non-Jews? Why am I anti-Semitic for pointing out bigotry?
Mel was not an anti-Semite. If he is now, surely, it's the Jews doing. How is a man supposed to respond to pressure like that? Except to hate them. (and still Mel doesn't hate them) And again, why do Jewish people have such a dominating stronghold over all the media and so many other areas of our lives?

There is no proof that Mel Gibson said anything to support the ridiculous rumor that he is an anti-semite. You people think everyone is anti-semite. Quit your constant complaining, it's all you do. Gibson has done many great things with his celebrity. The person responsible for leaking this story needs to be taken care of, something needs to be done about libel. Gibson deserves the benefit of the doubt!

He is no better than anyone else! He was driving 87 MPH in a 45 MPH zone, and had an open container of alcohol with him. When he was stopped and was arrested, those officers may have saved someone else a lot of grief. You could be reading the headlines, "Mel Gibson kills entire family in tragic car accident", or "Actor and Academy Award-winning Director Mel Gibson killed in tragic car accident". He should have been arrested.

You actually feel sorry for him? Do you really think that just because he's famous that that gives him the right to break the law and act the way he did? I mean, come on... Why should he get special treatment? You've GOT to be kidding. He's the one that did it. No one made him do what he did. He should pay the consequences just like anyone else. He needs to be responsible for his own actions. He is NOT above the law. He should have worried about his reputation before he broke the law. If he would have wrecked and killed someone, do you think he should have gotten away with that, also?

Mel Gibson is a Anti-Semite. It is not the first time that he make racial remarks.
It doesn't matter how much money you have, everybody worth the same. Money isn't the most important thing in the planet.

Is this the first time a drunk shouted out racial slurs and yelled slurs at a female? hell no. But since it was a movie star everyone has their panties all knotted up. Who gives a rats behind if good ol Mel ever works again. And who cares if he's a racist. Then don't watch his movies. I think he has the bankroll to support himself. It's lame we have to concentrate so hard on a movie star when they do something that is in the normal human behaviour range. Oh wait I have to go...I see a headline that says Brittany Spears wiped her ***!!!

Not at all. I don't think a big shot Hollywood star should get special treatment just because he's a big shot Hollywood star. Screw that! If you're drunk and speeding then you should be punished just like anyone else who gets caught for doing it. There's no double standard just because you're a gazillionaire with a giant ego. The law should not discriminate. Hopefully he'll think twice before he does it again and put others' lives at risk.
