To cover a bruise should I use a white base powder or paste on a skintone color?

The best thing I've found to cover a bruise is a green based cover-up by Physician's Formula. Bought it at WalMart some years ago. THEN put your foundation over it.

Find a concealer closely matched to the colour of your skin, but with a hint of yellow. (Yellow cancels out purple as it is the opposite colour in the spectrum to it). Apply it using a thin tipped brush for precision. Pat it gently with your finger so that it doesn't’t show, and then fix in place with loose powder. Then brush away the excess loose powder using a powder brush.

use concealer of yellow (if the bruise is purple) or orange (if the bruise has a bluish colour). Doesnt matter what colour your skin is.

I would use a color that matches your natural skin tone. That way, its not as obvious.
