I am considering a trip to Dubai in the next few years. Just wondering how Americans are received in Dubai? Might be a dumb question, but are Americans safe in Dubai? What type of legal documentation do I need (passports, etc.)? Thanks a lot.

Dubai is a popular tourist destination for all peoples of faith and nationality. Because of the this expect to be treated as an honored guest by the locals.

Remember, the U.S. has Cent-com in the Saudi Peninsula, and so far everything is quiet.

If anything, Europeans and others tourist who hate Americans might be the only trouble you encounter. Nothing we cant handle though.

Dubai is a very international city and everyone is safe there. You'll see people from all over the world living, working, vacationing there. It's totally normal to see Americans, Britons, persons from Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe and everywhere else you can think of there. There are far more foreigners there than indigenous people (90%-10%).

You need a passport, of course, but you can get your entry visa in the Dubai airport.

It's a beautiful country and I'm sure you'll enjoy your visit.

Hi, don't let the media fool you into considering the middle east dangerous or anti-american.

Dubai is one of the richest, most advanced states. It is perfectly safe for americans and any westerner. Dubai is composed mainly of expats from all sorts nationalities. You will be surprised when you get there, you wont be seeing a lot of locals!!

If you are going there for a visit, all you need is your passport and an international driving license if you plan on renting a car. Cabs are expensive there so it could be a good idea to get a license.

I have been through Dubai several times in the past 2 years and like anywhere else you have to be careful. Check out the gold market and the indoor ski slopes. They are also working hard on the manmade islands that are going to be a big hit when finished.

Passport. ... thatz the most important thing u must not forget....plus visa of course.....US citizens (tourists and business people) may apply to the UAE embassies in the US for one to ten year multiple-entry visas. A sponsor is required and the visa will be granted free of charge. The maximum duration of stay should not exceed six months a visit.
