This is a philosophical and moral question.

What do you think a real person would do...let's say you or someone you know?

Would the power corrupt them, even if they used it for good at first? Would it be inevitable?

I honestly believe that in the real world, most people with superhero powers would use them to oppress others, 9 out of 10 times.

And we're assuming only one person in the world has them, so no X-Men/Justice League scenarios...

Damn I sound like a dork.

Well I agree with you, its impossible for a normal man to resist the temptation of doing the things you couldn't possibly do as a normal person. Its just like buying a big house for yourself if you won a million in a lottery. They are rare who lose all their fortune for charity. If I get Superpowers, I won't become a supervillain or a hero but would strive for people's and my good with my capacity

I think I would model my behavior as a superhero after the example of the ancient Greek gods who, according to myth, were quite capricious. On the one hand, I might clean up the environment, stop terrorism, destroy all nuclear weapons, etc. On the other hand, if I have a sweet tooth and it's Halloween, ya never know, I might have to make the chirrens give up da candies. I might promote freedom and democracy around the world, but I might also demand that my local radio station play music I like...OR ELSE.

As a superhuman, I would not be subect to the same laws as humans, and the humans would just have to accept it and do as I say when I'm craving a bit of appeasement. Generally speaking, I'd try to at least put in four hours a day solving the world's problems before taking the afternoon off to do what I want to do.

For good to help the innocent to protect the defensless to better man kind while honnoring the laws that are general princapals to govern man/ woman kind.
power does not corrupt until one loses sight that power is a gift and privilage not a right it is then and only then can power subduce someone to being corrupted then absoulet power can corrupt absolutely
With the assumption of only one man / or woman with power it would depend deeply on their own moral upbringing as well as ablity to adapt to different cerciumstances to different sittuations to be able to properly determin what is right for each without being excessive in any extream action. such as if to say if i had the powers move objects with my mind or stop time i would be first of all very selective of what i involved myself in using them for if it were absolutely nessesary and regular man/ or woman kind would not beable to handle or be worse off if i did not help but for the genneral polpulation i can not say for certin how any one or everyone would react to having special abliltys or powers i do know that disasters and tradgic events have a tendency to bring out the BEST in some and the WORST in others it all depends on like i said the morals that we the people within have and uphold

i'd probable use distinctive powers for countless issues, the two solid and evil. Like use invulnerability to keep lives and end criminals, then use invisibility and teleportation to rob a economic business enterprise lol.

For good of course. I am a naturally good hearted person. There are too many people that would let power get to thier heads, but I'm not one of them.

Using my x-ray vision to see what a lovely woman looks like under her clothing would be tempting, but I wouldn't be a hero, would I? Or a super one at that.

So it has to be good stuff.

For evil of course.
I wont have to work for the rest of my live, lol.
and i guess that is what most people will do.
that's why God didnt create any superhero in real live.
