As I know, no one has investigated the possibility of animal humour.
The question now is what's so darn funny in the animal world? Scientists say that when chimps play and chase each other, they pant in a manner that is strikingly like human laughter; dogs have a similar response; rats chirp while they play, again in a way that resembles our giggles.
I think animals' sense of humour actually exists, albeit in a form we human are ill-equipped to recognise.
Life can be funny, and not just for humans.

I think I agree with Mitia's answer. Even though humans have a sense of humor that no other life form has, we may not be in a position to recognise it for what it is in other species. Our communication channels are different from theirs. Our expressions are different from theirs. Humans are set apart from animals in this respect alone, if we can assure ourselves that the other forms of life don't communicate with so much variety as we do.

Yes, humor does not appear to be even remotely as developed in other primates as in humans. On the other hand, humans are also the only species to so completely devastate their environment.

That and ambition. You notice that while gorrillas can be trained to eat a meat diet and while Chimpanzees will hunt, humans are the only primates or animals for that matter that seem to have ambition. A gorrilla left to its own devices will go back to a diet solely of fruit and vegetables. Chimpanzees will abandon their hunts if they lose sight of their prey.

If you'd seen that program last night, this chimp threw a stick at his brother and i swear, laughed his head off when it struck him on the nose.
