how do u get rid of telemarketer's?

When they call you answer one of the following:
-FBI's office, how may I help you
-911 Emergency, what is your emergency
-Please hold (then play one of those songs that play while you're on hold)
-(Just pick up the phone but don't say anything)
- (Say that you're another telemarketing company)
-Department of Motor Vehicles, please hold.
-(2 words: phone sex!!!)

i have a unlisted number and they still ring me a unlisted number is still somebodys old number i usually say just a minute put the phone down go back to what i am doing after a few minutes of waiting they usually get the idea and hang up

I have a VERY young sounding voice (I'm 49) and when they call they always say...."Is your mother home?" I usually say something like (in a little girl voice), "She's in bed with the gas-man", or I like the voice about to cry..."I don't know where she is"...freaks 'em out....or I just blow a whistle REAL loud....LOL

You can regester your phone number. You might also want to remember that some places (the searra club, the DNC etc...) have exemption to that, and in that case you have to tell them "put me on your do not call list".

Tell them you are busy and ask for their number to call them back. Insist that YOU have to call them back. If the person says he/she is off work at such-and-such time, blah-blah-blah, ask for his/her home number and promise to call him/her at home at your first free moment.
