Yes. I do not intend on taking my husbands name in marriage. If he wants us to have the same last name he can take mine or we can get a hypenated name.
I believe your name represents who you are. Taking his name represents you as his possesion.
Thats my opinion anyway!

Nope, I was proud to take my husbands last name 11 years ago. I am comfortable with myself and don't feel I should have to pull a power trip over a man and make him take my name, I was honored to take his name, and it's not the most common last name either. Men are being emasculated today by women enough today as it is if you ask me...I think they are forgetting what it really means to be a man and take care of the woman you love and family you've made. Women have no idea what kind of mess they are making of things. Although I thank the womens movement for some things, I think that they are taking it a little too far with other things. JMHO!

people should keep their own last names! hyphenating is ok (which is what I'd do..i'd never completely give up my last name) but name changes completely screw up public records. I have to search for medical doctors in databases for part of my work, and female doctors with different last names are quite irritating to look for.
i don't think most men would go for taking a woman's last name because it would take away part of their power, as they see it.

Not really, Im sort of traditional, & I highly doubt many men would give up their name.
