I think the united nations is a spent force. It does not seem to have it's finger on the pulse and considering the attrocities occouring around the world, not only the conflict in the middle east, there are many times the united nations have done sweet stuff all to help oppressed people who do not have the power to defend themselves against the will of their own governments or the governments of surrounding nations.

The united nations seems like an institution for the provision of lip service and finger waving but little or no power and/or action.

Even the name is a joke.

UN is a waste of time and $$$$. War exists in Lebanon because Iranian sponsored terrorists are throwing non- precision ordnance at the civilian population of Israel and the mock - army of Lebanon is powerless to interdict the Hezbollah guerillas.

UN is FAIR... at least Kofi Annan - he has several times asked Security Council to take emergency steps, or at least adopt resolution, which will condemn the aggression of Israel (or at leas of major breach of international humanitarian law) - bombing of UN Premises, Bombing the transport of the Red Cross, Bombing the Shelters, killing hundreds of civilians etc. - but US always use their right of veto, and besides that they decided to send some more bombs for Israel (although there is a principle not to send any arms to the sides of armed conflict - so they can come to some peaceful settlement).

The UN is Fair, but the UN is not strong enough (I agree with the guy who joked about UNITED - in this case it should be DIVIDED Nations.)

United Nations sucks. Nowadays it's run by the Jews. European and Arab nations has no effect on it anymore. Israel has killed many UN peace keepers in Lebanon a week ago and the UN didn't have the balls to condemn it. Kofi anan is a puppet in their hands. Of course not the UN is doing nothing , they can stop the genocide and murdering of the Lebanese people, they watch babies die and dont bother to put pressure on Israel for a cease-fire and Israel is launching her hate and anger on poor civilians ,,since when the lebanese became germans and Nasrallah hitler so that the jews hate them so much?

Whether the UN is fair or not is immaterial. The UN is a toothless organization hell bent on printing UNICEF greeting cards. That's about all it's good for. It's the USA that is the world leader now and US definitely has not been fair. Never will be either.

of course not , but we must know that UN is USA, WHAT USA wants from ISRAEL it's clear that Israel the front state of USA and it's clear USA is offering absolute power to Israel to fight Arab country , it's meddle east strategy it's energy problems, so ever thing is well explained, now there is no means to fight Israel only through USA, anywhere, and i thing if the people still does not realize what their government doing and to stop them it will be big problems for the Americans for the coming years.
