I figure it must be one of three results:
1) The diapers are the wrong size, in which case, should I get bigger or smaller diapers? (she's 15lbs, I have her in size 3)
2) I am putting the diapers on wrong, maybe too tight or too loose?
3) Huggies are just unreliable diapers, what brand do you prefer and why?

I get Huggies because I can buy them in bulk at Costco. When recommending diapers, keep in mind that I like to consider not only quality but price.

Everyone has good advice, go to size 2, make sure it's snug, try pampers, they're great (huggies leaked for me too in the beginning and then I liked them for a while again). I now use the Costco Kirkland brand diapers and they are absolutely wonderful for my daughter (18 months old). I also save a huge amount of money. I'm really picky about my diapers and are surprised how well they absorb. I know that Costco doesn't carry the Kirkland brand in all sizes so good luck.

I prefer Pampers. I did find that Huggies leaked. Pampers were the best, but Luvs were the best for the price. I preferred Luvs to Huggies as well.
It's also possible that you're just not changing her often enough. Diapers these days can absorb so much that sometimes it's hard to tell when they're wet, so you may just need to do it more often. Most of the problems we had with leaks were at night, when it was a long time between changing.

Go to size 2! Make diapers tight enough that you can get 3 finger between diaper and belly. And change often so they don't fill up and leak. Pampers and huggies have always worked. Brand change ain't going to matter. I have 4 kids I know. Good Luck

I'd suggest following the sizing chart on the package of diapers.
There are many websites that show how to put diapers on properly (how to tell if it is too tight or too loose).
I prefer Luv's. They are made by the same company as Pamper's, but they are less expensive, and for some reason, they never provoked an allergic reaction with my kids the way that other brands did.
PS: Send an email to the manufacturer of the diapers you are currently putting your baby in and explain the problem and that you are thinking that maybe you'd better try a different brand, etc., etc., etc. You'll likely end up with a coupon for free diapers out of it.
Best wishes!

I had leak problems with huggies occasionally as well. (from costco too) I now use pampers and you can get them at walmart for a good price and they're waaay better!! also, this may sound mean but are you changing the diaper often enough?? if they leak mostly at night you may want to change it in the middle of the night if you find that your baby gets the diapers wetter during sleep. good luck!

Size 3 is for babies 18 pounds on up. Downsize to size 2. Huggies, too, leak BIG TIME! I have always used Pampers baby dry. My daughter sleeps 12 hours through the night and is dry in the morning. You need to overlap the tabs though on the diaper...not so tight that it leaves creases in your baby's skin though.

I don't know why they leak. I also have a fifteen pound little boy and I have him in a size three diaper. I dont know why everyone is telling you to put him back to a size 2. I dont go by the pounds on the package. He went to a size three becasue the size two did not fit right any more. He is also having a problem with leaking. It is the luvs diapers that he is leaking out of. When he was born we were using parents choice daipers from wal-mart. we never had a problem with them so we just switched back to them and they arey very inexpensive.

like the others said- pampers are better for leaks. my 11 week old is in pampers swaddlers because the huggies would make her clothes wet with pee overnight and she would stink in the day like urine. size charts on diapers aren't always correct though, my son is 40lbs and can still wear a size 5 in the easy ups training pants. it all depends on the baby's body shape. but i'd say buy a small; pack of size 2's and see if they fit better.

Huggies is a great brand. Also try treasures. Sometimes you do have to get a bigger size nappy as that was the problem with my son then i just upgraded him to bigger and it stopped. You may also be putting them on too loose, try tighten them a bit more. You may also have to change her a bit more in the day. Good luck
