I agree that people riding motorcycle should wear their helmets, but they say that they like to feel the wind in their face and hair and the feeling that they feel "free like the wind" I tell them that they at least need to sign their drivers license to say they are ORGAN DONORS

Only an idiot would not wear a helmet, or wear one of those novelty helmets that consist of a thin plastic shell and no liner.
But there are a lot of idiots in the world.
I think we should allow them to kill their brains. In fact, failure to wear a helmet should qualify a rider for a discount on all bikes over 60 horsepower, provided they only ride in the fog, rain or ice.
I will be needing a new liver soon, so I hope they never make helmets mandatory.

Only good quality helmets work as designated and that also only for once. Racers helmet are completely different and generally nobody use them in normal life. An accident sometimes causes crashing of helmets which make the accident more acute.

Have you ever heard the saying " Buy a helmet, as expensive as the head you're going to put into it" ?????? Now you have, anyway. Didn't you know........ Chicks dig guy's who're too tough to wear a helmet. Funnily enough, though. Chicks don't dig guy's with brain damage, or no face, or that have their brains strewn all down the road. It's all good, till you're flying through the air, at 100 k's an hour. Then you have lot's of time, as your fear slows it all down, to think about why you should have bought a helmet. Just by the way..... Guy's who think it's cool to wear a singlet ????? There's another bunch of dud's that should be taken out, and tried for terminal stupidity.

Since your a paramedic, you must have seen some of these a--holes who wear helmets and then do 130 mph weaving through traffic and then killing themselves when they loose control.
Yeah - that's so much better. Or better yet, they become vegetables so someone can wipe their a-- for them the rest of their lives because they were smart enough to wear a helmet and didn't die.
Just my 2 cents.
I've been riding for over 25 years and hav elived in states that required a helmet. I 've ridden both ways and prefer to not wear one at this time.

Why would people ride a donor cycle?
The chance of dying from riding on a motorcycle as opposed to riding in a car may be more significant than the chance of dying from riding without a helmet as opposed to riding with a helmet.
Those with the mindset to take the first risk are more likely to take the second risk.
While I would never take either risk, I have to wonder if there is some kind of thrill associated with risk-taking behavior.
Maybe riders tend to be more self-destructive. It would be interesting to see drug and alcohol stats on motorcyclists compared to the general population.
Maybe riders are ignorant and believe that death occurs when it is their time to die. Maybe that's true and we're ignorant.
There is one thing I know and that is that motorcyclists that do not wear helmets have donated large quantities of healthy young organs which has probably netted out to more lives saved than lost.

When I ride on the back of my husbands bike, I don't wear a helmet. He has been riding for 25 years and he is very safe. I love the feel of wind in my hair, on my face, i just feel free. It feels good.
When I ride on my bike, I always wear a helmet because I haven't been riding that long.
But mostly, it is my choice to wear helmet or not. I don't want some bureaucrat telling me I have to wear a helmet because it is "safer". What happened to freedom of choice?

Full face helmets break your collar bone when you crash, and all helmets smash down your hair. Other than that I dunno.
I carry a hat with me so after I pull off the helmet I slap that on. I used to ride without one, then they passed the helmet law and I have to. But i probably would anyway since I ride a cafe racer and am always hauling azz.

Death wish? Too sexy for their brains? People seem to think that since they're not racing then they aren't going fast enough to get hurt?
"I've crashed in every way imagineable and never hit my head!" Nice knowing ya, Pops. I suppose the cracked vertebrae, crushed ribs, etc felt pretty good then, eh? Yes, it's YOUR choice, but don't try to sway others to make the same stupid decision.
Your husband has been riding for 25 years and is "very safe?" That's nice, but that drunk idiot doesn't care a lick for how safe your husband is when he plows through that red light.
"I like the wind in my face and the feeling of freedom!" Well, enjoy the feeling of your skin and flesh ripping off of your body for the split second before your head hits the concrete barrier, OK?
A friend of mine still has his FACE after highsiding on the freeway during rush hour. He slid along the asphalt ON his full-face helmet for about 70 feet, but since he was wearing full gear he got away with a broken wrist and dislocated shoulder. NO HELMET = NO FACE!!!
I have a coworker that refuses to wear a helmet, claiming that she can't see out the side and it blocks her peripheral vision. I suppose she rides without EVER turning her head?
Oh, wait, you wanted a LOGICAL reason...
Gosh, I can't think of one!
Wear full gear or die, squid!

Well there are a couple logical reasons why people do not wear helmets: First would be ignorance. Secod: inbreeding. Maybe they've already fallen a few times and have nothing left to lose, brain-wise. I know I wear mine! (Not one of those lame half-helmets for fat guys, either - I plan on keeping my teeth when I crash.)

It comes down to someone's own decision. I wear a helmet, as does my son, wife, and the people we ride with. Not to wear one is just adding to the possiblility of damage during an accident.
But it is a personal decision. The things about it limits the field of vision and all is bullsh*t. I would rather have a very small reduction in view than the back of my head smashed in. But that's my decision.
If the next person doesn't want to, up to him or her, just don't make me pay for their hospital bills or upkeep, if they turn veggie because of it.
But to come on to a motorcycle section and bad mouth motorcycles in general is bullsh*t also. If you don't have anything good to say, shut the hell up. Those of you that bad mouth bikes, have you ever ridden one?
Do you speed in your car? why? If you do, then you're a dangerous driver. Your choice to speed is yours, but if it involves me getting hit, it's mine. My riding a bike is mine alone, so shut the hell up.
